Long while sinc…

Long while since my last post, been kinda busy lately researching more about Veganism and the easiest and cheapest way to sustain a vegan lifestyle.

I been incorporating more raw foods in my diet lately and I’m feeling quite refreshed and full of energy. I find that making my food ahead of time by buying in bulk has made my life easier and my vegan lifestyle more sustainable. You will no believe the amount of fruits and vegetables I can eat in a day. I never felt this great ever in my life! I’ve also been trying to go soy free, slowly weaning myself from it.

So I have solved all my problems about access to vegan products, How? by making them myself! and those that I cannot make I forget about, why stress over it when I have access to all these great fruits and vegetables!? And my life has never been easier than this.

I have been wan…

I have been wanting to connect with Filipino vegans, turned out most of them are abroad, to my disappointment because I wanted to ask them where they get their pantry essentials. I connected with one facebook page and not one help to where they get their tempeh, gluten etc. I’m really frustrated because I am here in Tarlac and going to Manila or Makati to find these things is a BIG inconvenience.

Sticking to my vegan pledge I mostly rely on veggies available in the markets and tofu which makes sticking to my pledge quite a challenge as the same thing everyday makes a boring menu. Is it  just me or they just don’t want to help? SM supermarket doesn’t have it all. Some products I used to buy there are now gone, maybe I was the only one buying them all along so sad… I am opposed to buying ready made mock meats so I want to make them myself, but I have discovered some at a Chinese store in Alonzo st. C.M. Recto Ave near Divisoria.

I’ll soon be going back there to buy soy beans and to try to see if they have gluten flour on stock since they didn’t have some when I went there. Also vegan books are literally non-existent in the bookstores here, really pisses me off to have to go to high end bookstores located in Makati and Quezon City just to buy them. What if aspiring vegans are average wage earning people, who can’t afford to spend a day to go to Manila in search of books and food? That is the problem I want to end anyone here who shares my thoughts and feelings please message me.

WAKE UP!! BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.

A lot of people know how to eat healthy, most are capable of exercising, But why don’t they do it?

Because they lack the commitment to themselves and the respect for their body. They see their body only as an instrument not a temple.

Everything we are capable of we owe it to our body, we work to have money to have food on the table, We must acknowledge that our body is our prime priority without it we are nothing.

We must take care of ourselves, if we don’t we will suffer.

The basic purpose of food is nourishment to give us energy. Not something we could get sick from. Food is not the enemy, We are! Our lack of knowledge about the food we put into our body, the marketing that companies pay for to lie to us to buy their products is whats causing all this confusion about food.

We must act now and learn from our mistakes before it’s too late. We owe it to ourselves, to our family, to our environment.

Your money is your vote

The intelligence of a specie is not in any way connected to their ability to feel pain. Animals have eyes, ears, nose, nerves. most of the time their senses are more acute than ours, so why do you justify eating meat saying they don’t feel pain? You condemn people who hurt dogs and cats, how are pigs, cow and chicken differ from them? Just because you didn’t kill them yourself does not mean you didn’t have a hand on it, Your money is your vote, You pay for what they are doing… be a compassionate eater, become a Vegan.

My thoughts on veganism

I have been wanting to go vegetarian for health reasons, but what sold me to become a vegan is the ethics. I love animals and I feel compassion for them, also, I am deeply disturbed by what’s happening to our environment. Being born to a Filipino-Chinese family, our meals always had a little of everything, there’s a bit of meat, some fish, vegetables and grains of course. So upgrading to veganism is no trouble at all, even if I end up making everything myself just to make sure it’s vegan.

I have always felt guilty throwing away plastics, and have always tried making things out of them. but as many of us tend to do is forget about it when we get overwhelmed with the work and time involved. Ever since I became a mother, the passion for the environment came back to me. I kept thinking what kind of life I would leave for my child, of course I want clean food, clean water, clean environment and fresh air for my children, don’t you want that too? If going vegan helps then that’s what I will do, what we all ought to do. We came to a world that is clean and beautiful, why leave it dirty and destroyed? Do it for your children.
